Doing the 3D animation was a little difficult for me, because it takes me quite a while to get use to getting into the flow of remembering where certain tools are, and what they exactly do. For me it was a bit scary and daunting, even trying to play around with Maya wouldn't help me at all, because i would have no idea where to start. However i was very happy that i got a helping hand from a friend, and guided me, as i tried not to frustrate her too much, as i am abit slow on remembering where things are. It wasn't as complicated as i thought, although there is alot to take in and i am trying to get use to the programme.
The main thing about this assignment, is to get the idea of how things move, and understand the types of movements you can do with Maya. It's all about making sure that you are able to bring across the motion of your animation in the right way, so the audience understands whats going on and regonises a situation.
In these two animations, both of them show, one rubber ball is a very bouncy ball, and the other is not a bouncy ball. I'm not to sure if both animations are long enough to show what im tryna bring across the difference between the two balls. I think they should have been a lot longer, and the movement doesn't look quite right to me. Although i do get the understanding of how to show the movement of the balls and what they are suppose to be doing.
2-D Animation
Making Stop Frame Animation is always great fun for me, but at the same time you've got to put a lot of thought into it, and in away you've got to plan the movement and how it is exactly going to look when your finished with it. This being a stretch and squash task, i had to make sure that i was doing exactly that. One with the rubber bouncy ball, which i think does exactly show that it is exactly bouncing, as if it was an actual bouncy ball.
With the other one it was a little bit more difficult, because I'm dealing with a square block and a ball on a spring. so not only do i have to think about the stretch and squash of the block, but the movement of the ball on top of it, and how it will interact with what it is attached to. To be honest, i wasn't to sure, so i had to imagine it in my mind, and do it the way i thought it would move, and the way the block would move. I know that not everyone's work is going to be the same, and people imagine things in a different way, but I'm not to sure if my block with the springy ball does what it's suppose to do?!?!
One of my favourite adverts.. with those colourful bouncing balls. When making these animations, both 3-D and 2-D, all i could think of was this advertisment. This is one of the greatest ad's ive ever seen.
