When I was a young girl, there was a book that was given to me by my mother, called A Necklace Of Raindrops, that captured my imagination like no other book had before. The colours on the page would just jump out at you against all the silhouetted people, or images within the story, I found it all very magical even till this day, i never get tired of reading it. Jan Pienkowski, the artist and genius behind these amazing illustrations inspire me to become an illustrator myself one day, and hopefully create something as beautiful and as eye catching to get the imagination going.
Kara Walker
Kara Walker, an African American artist very well known for expressing the struggles of black people from, race, gender, identity, sexuality and violence through her work within animation. Her work filled with emotions and shock that you'd never thought could be captured within such an animation as this.
Her work is very unique, and that's something i take on board, to see things, and create things with a different eye.
